Spring-House-by-Gabriel-Grinspum-+-Mariana-Simas-1

Spring House was built upon a proposal to divide the house into two volumes. The first is a solid house covered with a coating of lime, and windows “muxarabi” that filter light and allow constant ventilation. The second volume is built on metal plates and a pre fabricated wooden structure. The location of the house is defined by two principles: the need for proximity to the water for the boat and preserve the dense jungle vegetation. The site is located on the Saco do Mamanguá (RJ), a fjord accessible only by boat without a motor. This Spring House was designed to house a boat of a young couple from Sao Paulo during the weekend.
